Solar PV in 2026 requires proper technical and economic design: Net Billing for grid-connected projects, storage where it has value and off-grid design where there is no grid connection or independence is required.
Homes
Sizing from annual consumption, hourly load profile and available installation area.
Businesses
Daytime consumption can align well with PV production, but loads and supply capacity must be assessed.
Off-grid
For holiday homes, islands and remote sites using LiFePO4 batteries, a suitable inverter and backup where required.
Net Billing, not old Net Metering assumptions
For new grid-connected projects we assess the applicable self-consumption framework. We do not use old assumptions of simple kWh offsetting or one fixed value for surplus energy in every case.
Subsidies
We do not present old or closed programmes as active. “Photovoltaika sti Stegi” is inactive. For new programmes we check the official call, beneficiaries and eligible expenditure. A €200 million battery-grant programme has been announced for 2027–2028, with detailed terms still expected.
