Solar PV Cost in Greece (2026)

The cost of a solar PV system cannot be determined reliably from nominal kW alone. Two systems with the same rated power can have different prices and very different capabilities depending on the inverter, storage, electrical protection, mounting system, installation conditions and backup requirements.
What determines the final price
- Number, power and type of solar modules.
- Inverter or inverter/charger and required peak power.
- LiFePO4 battery storage and usable capacity.
- Tiled roof, flat roof, metal roof or ground mounting.
- AC/DC boards, protection devices, isolation, SPD, earthing and cabling.
- Distances, access, scaffolding and special installation work.
- Grid-connection process where the project is grid connected.
Why we do not quote one universal payback period
Payback depends on actual production, electricity purchase price, direct self-consumption, the value of exported energy, equipment cost and the load profile. A fixed “4–6 years” figure is not correct for every customer.

Subsidies in 2026
There is no general rule that a current “Exoikonomo” programme covers 40% of every solar PV installation. Each programme has its own call, eligible beneficiaries, deadlines and eligible expenditure.
